To provide assistance to a graduating high school senior, who plans to enter the Education or Nursing field.

Students must apply each year for financial aid, grants, etc to the college/university they are attending.  The BLANCO FOUNDATION, INC. will supplement payment to the college/university of your choice for the balance of tuition and books renewable each year as long as the student remains in good standing. All payments will be made directly to the college/university the student chooses to attend.

  1. Candidate must plan to pursue a career in the Nursing or Educational field.
  2. Student must apply for financial aid to the college they plan to attend.
  3. Proven academic achievement with a cumulative three year grade point average of 85 or better.
  4. Provide a copy of SAT/ACT score along with your percentile rating.
  5. Active participation in a community service or project/program and extra-curricular programs.
  6. Submission of application material by March 1, 2010 to:

  • Demonstrate scholastic achievement.
  • Community service and extra-curricular activities.
  • A short essay. (Future Plans)
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Financial need (based on college cost, anticipated financial aid and family income). 
  • Interview by invitation of the review committee for final candidates.  Interviews will be scheduled in the months of March & April 2010.
  • The Board of Directors will meet May 2010 for final selection.

Please do not send detailed financial information when submitting the application. Only final candidates will be asked to submit a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) or Award Letter and a copy of the acceptance letter from the school they plan to attend.

 

All selected students must sign and return the following “Terms of Agreement” to The Blanco Foundation by July 1, 2010.  



Applications may be reviewed or downloaded from the Applications box at the top of this page.  The application submission opens December 1 and closes February 15th 2010.
 The Foundation has also designated a three month period between October 1 through December 31 in which a printed application form is made  available.  Because forms are revised each year, applicants are discouraged from coping forms that me be on file with financial aid offices, or have been saved from prior years.
